When the Androscoggin Valley Hospital acquired the St. Luke Medical Center, they wanted to upgrade the dated and somewhat tired building to modern standards, improve its quality and acquire a new image more fitting with the progressive attitude of their organization. Couture Construction was contracted to bring the building into the 21st century. Renovations included a new roof, siding an entirely new front entrance structure with canopy, as well as extensive site work to provide accessibility.

Interior renovations were also required to meet the goals of AVH.

Upon completion, AVH had a thoroughly modern facility that is a major asset and will continue to serve the community well for generations to come.
